Solutions for Every Roofing System
As a residential roofing contractor, our technicians are familiar with every type of roofing product used in the contemporary market.
Residential Roofing Slopes, Low-Slopes and No Slopes
Sloped roofing systems are exactly what the name suggests. They are rooftops that rise to peaks and easily allow rain and snow to fall away with the force of gravity. Conventional sloping on residential structures is generally 4 inches of vertical height for every 12 feet of length (4 in 12), with some systems peaking as steeply as 6 inches of vertical height for every 12 feet of length (6 in 12). Sloping systems can be covered by a residential roofing contractor using just about any type of material that your budget and your tastes prefer.
Low-sloped systems are rooftops that rise at gradients between 2 inches for every 12 feet (2 in 12) and 4 inches for every 12 feet. Low sloping systems are generally treated with rubber, metal and TPO materials. However, they can be covered using asphalt shingles if the right modifications are performed at the time of installation. As an experienced residential roofing contractor, we can successfully install a shingle roof on your low sloping system by reinforcing the material with asphalt membranes and shingle application techniques.
A no-slope system is what is commonly known as a flat roof. No-slope systems have gradients that range anywhere between 1/8th of an inch for every 12 feet and 2 inches for every 12 feet. They are most commonly found over porches and patios. However, these systems have also been used on many post-modern and contemporary homes for the sake of architectural flair. No-slope systems are treated using rubber, metal or TPO roofing materials that are designed specifically to protect flat surfaces. These systems must be installed and repaired with great precision in order to achieve solid performance. As a skilled residential roofing contractor, we know exactly how to address the very specific needs of your rooftop.
Asphalt shingles are the single most popular residential roofing material, not only because they are cost-effective but because they are so versatile and durable. Asphalt shingles offer a level of design flexibility that makes them ideal for just about any home, regardless of its architectural style. They can be manufactured to replicate the looks of slate and clay, as well as wood shakes. And they are so light-weight that they can generally be installed over top of an existing roofing system without any worry for the load bearing capacity of the structure.
Tile Roof: Tiles – natural stone, ceramic and concrete – are some of the most durable, long-wearing materials available. Unlike many other roofing materials, tiles will not rust, curl, rot or burn. They have performance lives that range anywhere from 30 years to more than 100. If you want your residential roofing contractor to install a system that will serve your home throughout its lifetime, a tile roof may be the way to go.
EPDM: EPDM – or ethylene propylene diene monomer – is a synthetic rubber used in flat roofing applications. It is one of the most popular materials among residential roofing contractors because it can often be applied in a single, seamless sheet that virtually eliminates any chances of leaking.
